In 1952, John Komo Sr. and his brother, Bill, established Komo Construction Inc. in San Francisco and eventually expanded to include Marin County. John Komo Jr. learned the trade while working with his father throughout his high school and college years at Santa Clara University. In 1986, John established his father's business in Los Altos. John and his wife, Nan, who worked in the area of design, continued in the family business adding their daughter Jennifer, and son, Tim, in 1995.
